Cyanoprint Plate /Tracy Gause + Sara Poer
About The Collaboration
Sara Poer and Tracy Gause created their plate as a reflection of their shared love of alternative photographic processes, especially cyanotype and anthotype. Drawn to the way these processes capture the beauty of nature, light, and natural forms, they wanted to bring that same appreciation for nature into their ceramic work.
About The Artists
Tracy Gause
Tracy Gause is a ceramic artist based out of Indianapolis. She enjoys playing around with and learning new processes in ceramics, and how to combine them with her other artistic interests.
Sara Poer
Sara Poer is an interdisciplinary artist whose work centers on alternative photographic processes, material memory, and a broad range of textile practices. Although a practicing artist now she’s been creative since she was a child. Working primarily with cyanotype, textiles, and found objects/images, she explores how stories and knowledge are held, altered, and resurfaced through materials and time. Drawing from traditions often labeled as “women’s work”—such as quilting, sewing, and domestic handwork—Poer intentionally engages the long standing tension between craft and fine art, reframing these practices through her own lens to honor their skill, complexity, and cultural weight. By situating challenging ideas in familiar mediums to give viewers an entry point. She currently lives and works in Indiana.
